Prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged in September instead of 15 days, Finance Ministry issues notification
On the issue of non-increase in prices of petroleum products, the government announced to give more relief to the people. Instead of increasing prices after 15 days, the prices of petroleum products will remain the same in September, the Finance Ministry issued a notification. According to details, the government has announced that the current prices of petroleum products will remain the same in September.
The Finance Ministry has issued a notification not to increase the prices of petroleum products. It has been reported that Prime Minister Imran Khan had rejected the OGRA summary sent for price hike. The government had received a summary of increase in petroleum products by up to Rs 9 per liter in September, which was rejected by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Following the decision of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance has issued a formal notification to maintain the prices of petroleum products.
It has been reported that instead of reducing prices after 15 days, petroleum products will be available at current prices in September. It may be recalled that OGRA had recommended an increase of Rs 9.71 per liter in petrol and Rs 9.50 per liter in high speed diesel. Sources said that the relief given to the people will put a burden of more than Rs 17 billion on the government. Due to the current situation in the country, especially in Karachi and other areas, it was decided not to increase the prices of petroleum products.
